I see your point but I was assuming Tanev re-signs for a couple years and DeSimone is perfect 7th D who will play 6 more years unlike Suter and the idea is to win the Stanley Cup ASAP in Dallas. again the salary cap numbers have to work, thus this trade.

Yah, again, first you overvalue a guy with concussion history and undervalue the 2 Flames…and I would assume both Hanifin and Lindholm re-signs in Colorado, both are excellent core players and not old. Both could help Colorado win Cups for years. Salary caps work too!
