Devils fans know exactly what it’s like to have Lou trying to get 1 last run out of a team that does not have the roster to compete. Lou’s moves will probably set the islanders back a half decade in their eventual rebuild. So much term, so many older guys, no prospects.

Where are the 2 firsts and prospect at minimum from the isles in the Hughes trade? You can't possibly think that Sorokin for Hughes 1 for 1 is anywhere close to an even trade

I was the biggest Bo Horvat hater right after the trade and before the season. Reality is he's been playing like a top 20 center this season. He's been a perfect fit on the isles.

A lot of players play injured . He’s been bad since he joined the devils

He was playing well before his injury. His skating speed is down significantly since coming back. If the injury lasts for 8 years I'll be worried

He’s being paid to be a superstar and since he’s joined the devils he’s produced like a 3rd liner

He was at his pace before injury.

He was at his pace after getting healthy/adjusted in Jersey last year

He was great in the playoffs.

It’s an excuse. He’s being paid 8.8 mill to be a star , he’s been nowhere close to that since he joined NJ. At best he’s been a middle 6 winger, at worst he’s been a replacement level player.

Horvat has proved 5x the value Meier has plus he plays a more important position

Horvat has 21g 49 points in 67 games fully healthy.
Meier has 17g 35 points in 56 games while again being injured for a significant portion.

Do you really think you'd get one of those four? A top center in the league, his brother with elite potential, their star center captain, and star winger, all on an ELC or a great contract?
