Ron Hextall wouldn’t even make that Pettersson trade. Unbelievably brutal.

Idek where to start, vrana is not good idk why him being put on waivers has other pens fans wanting him. Wheeler and brown both are not great, idk what kind of opportunities wheeler has had, but i thought he was playing top 6 in NY at some point and his production is still around the same as Ellers, brown has a singular point and was playing in the oilers top 6, so once again had every opportunity to succeed. Ngl have no clue about kovacevic so i wont make an uninformed opinion there. Gio could be interesting but he will be turning 41 so that could be an issue. What even is that blackhawks trade, the caps projected to go up by like 4.2m so we have the cap to keep him so why even make it, and for a goalie who would be a backup and send a draft pick lol. And the cardinal sin this might actually make our team older even with carter not being under contract anymore. (Granted the best signing would be the 41yo gio lol)

Pettersson could return a 1st if moved, maybe even a bit more. He’s very good defensively and currently fairly compensated. I’m assuming you mean Riley Smith? There is no reason for us to move either or them.

These trades are so bad for the penguins lmao. why give up a 2nd for a bottom pairing dman?
why sell petterson for less than half his worth? Just to sign a bunch more old washed up players lol.
Dubas would be crucified for this roster and these trades

Honestly, I get why PIT would decline, but CHI wouldn't do that trade, either. Soderblom may not be having the greatest season, but he is a rookie. Goaltenders almost never have good rookie seasons. Personally, I don't believe he is CHI's goaltender of the future, but the Blackhawks organization seems to believe it and values him very highly. Plus, the team has been playing like garbage in front of him almost every game he has started. Also, LHD is just not a position of need, at all. Organizationally, it is probably CHI's deepest position.

I'd say Petterson is at a discount honestly. The way he's playing is 5-6mil player. If we trade him at the deadline for half retained I think you are right, easily brings back a 1st.

and that's sayin' something lol
nahhh Hexy would have offered Pettersson to STL for Binnington bc he just loves a goalie that will take penalties attacking other teams forwards just like the good old days right burkie??? lol tears of joy
