Done over paying for flames d this is the new dream

Obviously Philly needs to not be in a playoff spot to do this so that’s a big maybe

One golden move

Spend zero firsts

So not sure if this is enough for Walker probably has a total value of a second he’s our second best d prospect but I’d love to see it

Timmins will be fine as the 6th defender he’s playing very well right now

Now I doubt a goalie move happens but I’d love to see this one

It's looking a lot less likely that NSH will be a deadline seller, than it did a month ago.

If they do fall back out of the playoff picture though, I think a 3rd or 4th for Lankinen would be fair. Depends on what the goalie market is like, at the deadline. If TOR wants to dump Samsonov's salary, that should cost them a little too. NSH has the cap space to take his whole cap hit too, which would free up enough room for TOR to have a full 23 man roster.

Yeah I’m dropping the idea for tomorrow and samsonov doesn’t have negative value if you retain half of him that is less salary then they’re already paying which is a plus too and a 4th is plenty fair for lankinen

Highly doubt an unretained Walker brings back more then that but regardless I’m dropping this idea for tomorrow

Retained or unretained, I think the Flyers would want a minimum of a 1st rounder or 2nd + prospect for Walker. Retained salary at the deadline is a prerequisite for trades since most teams are up against the cap.

Yeah in a vacuum, a 4th for a backup like Lankinen is fair. Maybe a bit more, given that multiple teams with Cup aspirations need goaltending help (TOR, CAR, EDM).

NSH just wouldn't want Samsonov. If they're playoff bound, they're keeping the better guy in Lankinen. If they're out of the playoffs, they don't necessarily need or want to get a Lankinen replacement back. They can call up Askarov, to get him a little NHL experience.

If TOR retains on Samsonov, it doesn't add any value to NSH. It makes more sense for NSH to take his full cap hit. The Preds can easily afford it, and it provides more value to TOR (more cap space to make other moves, or just to be able to have a full 23 man roster). Either way, if NSH takes some or all of Samsonov's cap hit off TOR's hands, they should get a bit of compensation for doing so.
