In know the Jets could use a top 4 RHD, preferably big and physical. Barrie is neither and his offense is more than offset by his awful defense. That's something the Jets don't need to introduce to the lineup.

The thing with Lindholm is that he won't extend. If he's not going to extend in Calgary he sure as heck isn't extending in Winnipeg. So, for a rental that's an insane never before seen return. Plus it kills the defense and weakens the bottom of the lineup. Making the Jets a more top heavy, weaker overall team.

Yeah I see your point, I hardly find Barrie to be the optimal add neither.

In my mind Tanev wouldn't be part of the deal, hence a lesser return for the Flames. But you're right, if they're considered true rentals who's gone next season it's an overpay for sure. I just would like Lindholm on the Jets, really like the player.
