No, it's a very good trade value wise for Murphy and that's coming from a Hawks fan. I just don't think they do it. Nothing to do with trade value at all. He's just needed to help develop the rookies. His stats are way down because he's covering for Korchinski. I like Korchinski and I'm happy he's a Hawk. He's just making a ton of rookie mistakes. KK needs a physical defensive Dman as a partner to help his development. KK's development path is more important than a LATE 1st imo. BUT it's good value.

Hawks decline. Murphy for a 1st is probably about right value wise if the Hawks were going to trade him. Which I don't think they will. Kyrou doesn't fit the mold of what the Hawks want their blue line guys to be. Hawks have purged all of their sub-6 foot D men at this point. And he probably doesn't cover what it costs to dump Faksa anyway.

What Hawks fan has ever said anything remotely like that? Seriously, let me know and I'll beat them up. None of the Hawks fans I know have any illusions about what Murphy is and what he isn't. But the facts and the market both support this kind of return for a player like him, especially when we are taking back the Faksa contract.

Murphy has been brutal this year. Maybe if Chicago is keeping half the salary, they squeeze out a first . . . cause then the cap space would be moving in the right direction.
