Jones isn’t going anywhere. He’s a pretty decent 7th plus Habs have no use for him

yeah i don't think they would waive wheeler either but he needs to pick it up a bit. i know he gets more **** than he should be getting but man it is hard to watch him some games. as for the habs part, they don't really have a good defensive prospect pool. it's alright and all but. plus jones is at the point where he should be getting full time mins in the nhl, especially not the occasional swap for injuries or a 3rd line d game or two

I think it’s obvious Wheeler probably won’t play in any playoff games if they’re fully healthy. He’s not a 4th liner and if they make a trade, he’ll be bumped out of the top 9

But for now he should stay on the 3rd line and play minimal minutes

Huh? Montreal already doesn't have roster space for all their young D-men when everyone is healthy (especially on the left side) and their best D prospects aren't pro/in NA yet. If what Montreal has doesn't constitute "good defensive prospects", I'm not sure why you think Jones would constitute anything but more of the same.

Lane Hutson, David Reinbacher, Logan Mailloux, Adam Engstrom, Bogdan Kognyushkov, are 3 high profile prospect with Hutson and Reinbacher projected to be star. They already have Guhle and Barron who taking big stride and gaining lots of experience. They are right there with Anaheim , Carolina, New Jersey for the beat defenseman prospect pool. On the other hand Habs forward prospect pool is pretty weak.

you might not be familiar with montreal so much but we have at least 5 LHD prospects better than jones

without counting prospect who didnt play yet a single game in the NHL montreal have this LHD prospects all better than jones
