Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

Would lock in the Leafs top 4 pairings for the next while. Brodie can be allowed to walk or be included in the trade to help make cap work instead of retention. He is valuable though and I'd rather keep him in hopes of a long playoff run. This team is 250k over the cap but this can be solved by giving Gio the Spezza treatment by getting him to announce that he will retire if claimed. He can stick with the team and be quickly called up if an injury occurs. Also, I don't know the math around deadline cap but I'm pretty sure everything would work cap wise without gymnastics if Reeves' contract can be dumped but this is unlikely.

Yeah outside of the small cap issue that Giordano could make easier by doing what you said, I have no complaints. The values for the trade look good and the fit while hypothetical also looks good

I dont think folignos going anywhere unless he asks to leave, hes been the de facto captain this season. Hawks might entertain a murphy liljegren swap though.

Yeah. The only way I could see CHI valuing Lily as a 1st round pick is if there was a third party already interested in paying a 1st for him. As far as Foligno goes, I'm not opposed to trading him. If he wants to go compete for a cup, he has earned that right. I'd even go so far to say that, although he doesn't have a clause attached to his contract, he should at least be consulted about where he might want to go.

What kind of return do you think Davidson would want for Murphy? Assuming they do decide to trade him.
