We lose Cap space....we start the transaction with no dollars on our cap from the trap and end with 2mil. I did not realize that was rocket science. THE BLUES SAVE 4 MIL, not the hawks......especially when they don't have need of him. The highest he would play is third pair and we can use other (Likely Younger) Options in that spot. No reason for the Hawks to take half of this deal for no reason.

The hawks would still pay half his contract. THAT IS NOT SAVING MONEY. That is spending money. This deal adds 2mil to their cap per season it does not subtract 2 mil. If you cannot wrap your head around that I do not know what to tell you.

Hawks are loaded with prospects at LD. They are not tacking on Leddy.

You forgot Dvorsky, I honestly think Bolduc will be traded before next season in a package that brings back a good younger LD. Signing Skjei to that contract just doesn't make sense to me
