The Red Wings trade is always the one that baffles me on CF. Why is anyone jumping at the chance to trade a 5th round pick for a guy who plays 9 minutes? Especially a team like Detroit who's about to have Kane join the lineup making Greer even more useless to them.

It's not like it's even a placeholder trade for a cap dump. They have about 8 mil in cap space in this hypothetical, and Greer makes near league min. Also he was a waiver pickup 2 months ago, why the hell would anyone trade anything for this guy?

MTL is weak down the middle on the nhl roster and system, Kadri solidifes them to having a rly good 2C for a few years. Yea his age is up there but players like him produce longer than expected
