How the hell does Rasmus Ristolainen keep getting moved for first round picks?

His fancies don't tell a good story throughout his career IMO. While he's a very high action defenseman like Nurse (lots of Hits, Blocks, Shots), it's on the defensive side of things that we're looking for an upgrade.

Risto has been flip flopping between 45/55 split between Ozone vs Dzone deployment much like Nurse (though Nurse gets put out there against the top line night in night out).

I don't know much about what the eye-test says about Risto either, but his numbers (and cap hit even with retention) do not give me a good feeling about him and Nurse as a pairing. Similar fancies to Ceci but Ceci has more of a defensive deployment bias compared to both Nurse and Risto.

Would love to get Tanev as Nurse's partner though.

as much as i thought about how this would be a fantastic move for us in the offseason, i think hes getting too much attention on the market atm and his value will be super high. tried to find someone who is still GOOD defensively (risto is 6'4, 220+ pounds), that a lotta ppl might not have super highly valued

Ristolainen isn't good defensively though. Ceci is better. And cheaper.

Broberg is more valuable than Allison too. This is a lose-lose-lose for Edmonton.
