No space in Montreal. Comparable here is the Siegenthaler deal. A deadline/in season deal for a 23 year old LD with good analytics but no real oppurtunity.

With calgary moving 3 dmen, they have an opportunity to get Bahl/Harris quality minutes and try and develop a long term option/create more trade value for them

That's I want to said, Montreal alrealy locked Guhle, Hutson and maybe Xhekaj and Struble on the LD. I'm open about that trade of course, likely the same situation with the Romanov's trade with NYI at the Draft

if dougie is out for season (or at least until playoffs) NJD should do that.

1st+Bahl for Hanifin
3rd+3rd+Vilen for Tanev+4th

Both reasonable prices.

A late 1st 1 year away, a 3rd 1 year away, and Lysell. Unless I'm significantly underrating Lysell, this is still less than Horvat got, and the center market is THIN.

Yeah I just think they’d like to hold onto Lysell but who knows only time will tell

Next year start Hutson in the AHL, start with Matheson-Guhle-Xhekaj

try and sell matheson at the deadline and transition to Guhle-Hutson-Xhekaj. I will admit I'm not high on Xhekaj, but his numbers in a limited, sheltered sample size this year have been solid. He was horrific last year tho and I don't see him ever being anything better than a mediocre 6D+enforcer

Hutson will likely play 2-3 games with the Habs at the end of the current season, I don't see any senarios that he will spend full time in AHL. He will likely be a top candidate for the Calder next season.

Lindholm trade is probably pretty fair value wise, BOS giving up one of their best prospects and 2 picks for a rental top 6C w retention

As a Bruins fan, I'd probably decline just cuz Lysell still has potential to develop into a really good winger and Im sick of BOS giving up 1sts for rentals. If Sweeney had an extension in place for Lindholm itd be a different story

I don't think he'll be ready for the NHL to start next season tbh.

He may get some calder recognition if he racks up PP1 points, but Montreal is likely gonna suck again, he'll get caved in defensively, and Matheson still may be the PP1 guy.

Not remotely a comparable.

Seigenthaler was a healthy scratch for 2 months prior to being traded at the deadline and barely played when he did get in.

Harris has been playing 2nd pair minutes with excellent underlying numbers

Siegentaler had fantastic underlying numbers, much better than Harris.

Harris is playing 3rd pairing on a bad team.

There were 3 quality vets ahead of siegs on a team trying to compete, which pushed him out.

There are 2 quality guys ahead of Harris, an enforcer who the team needs a spot for, and a top prospect next year coming, leading to him being pushed out

Outdated stats, which wouldn't be relevant for a veteran but that's from february. so it includes only the 47 games he played up that point in 22-23. Meaning it ignores half of his career.
If you want to cite Jfresh cards you're more than welcome to.

Overall last year+this year he's in the 71st%ile xGoal wise, overall 77th%ile in proj war.

Good PK, solid offense, average defense. Small, sheltered sample size

Siegs in 18-19 was in the 80th proj war%ile
He was in the 88th%ile offensively, 97th%ile defensively (his finishing and penalty differential weighed him down a tad)
Then in a larger sample in 19-20, siegs was even better, finishing in the 90th%ile in proj war.

50% offensively, 97% defensively, and a quality PK guy.

Like I said, Siegs underlyings were FANTASTIC.

so, 2 guys with good underlyings, 23 years old, sheltered role+small sample size. Both being pushed out of a team for different reasons. Comparable

Going back 1 full year to the trade he had played 7 total games.

He was a reclamation project

He had 97 career games leading up to the trade
Harris has 91.

The caps had 7 quality veteran defenders and so weren't focused on developing a young guy.

Carlson, Chara, Jensen, TVR, Orlov, Schultz, Dillon.

Harris is 5th on the team in TOI among dmen. He was 5th last year as well.

He's very clearly the 3LD behind Matheson and Guhle.

And he doesn't play against top competition very often.

Guhle, Savard, Edmundson, and Matheson tanked the tough minutes last year. Xhekaj, Barron, and Harris took the easy ones

Now this year Guhle, Savard (when he was healthy), Kovacevic, and Matheson are tanking the tough minutes.

Harris isnt getting healthy scratched for MONTHS on end like Seigenthaler was. Guys getting healthy scratched have depressed trade value.

Theres 0 chance the habs wpuld take a 3rd. Not even halfway there

He's a 23 year old 5'11 3rd pairing LHD on a bad team. I really don't know what to tell you.

You can nitpick whatever you like.

A team not trying to win games has more ice time to give out than a team trying to win games.

On a team in the playoff hunt last year, and even this year, guys like Harris, Barron, and Xhekaj would have been/be healthy scratches, in the AHL, or playing 13 minutes a night.

Last time i checked new jersey is tied with montreal so by your logic seigenthaler today is negative value asset given he is older and making 3.4 million and today isnt playing a mterially bigger role than harris is.
