Équipe: 2023-24 Équipe personnalisée

Description Over past decade, the number of goalies with at least 10 games played traded by season:
2013-14 14
2014-15 5
2015-16 3
2016-17 3
2017-18 3
2018-19 4
2019-20 5
2020-21 1
2021-22 3
2022-23 2
Total is 45 total trades (but there are a couple of guys traded twice....like Quick last year, Bishop in 2017, Halak in 2014). On average that is ~4 goalies per year. Only 11 total that would be considered starters at time of trade (and only 4 of those in last 8 years).
Number of goalies *with term* (more than 1 year) and at least 10 games played traded by season:
2013-14 4
2014-15 0
2015-16 0
2016-17 0
2017-18 0
2018-19 0
2019-20 0
2020-21 0
2021-22 0
2022-23 0
(yes...you are reading that correctly)

I was thinking about how often good goalies get traded while trying to sell Markstrom.
You think this year will be an exception? Lot's of need among contenders and some interesting names that might be available, such as Markstrom and Saros.
Lot's of interesting available options too.
The other thing I was thinking about, was the returns, I don't think goalies fetch a lot of value.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Jake Allen gets moved, just to make the Habs fans happy.

On this day in 1995, Detroit lit up Patrick Roy and the Habs 11-1 in Montreal.
Habs coach Mario Tremblay foolishly kept Roy in net for all 11 goals.
Roy told Molson he'd never play another game for Montreal ever again.
Roy and Mike Keane were traded to Colorado a few days later.
Roy exacted his revenge on the Red Wings months later when his Avs eliminated them in the WCF in 6 games en route to winning the Cup.
The morning of that Dec. 2 game Roy bumped into Red Wings goalie Mike Vernon at a restaurant.
Roy told Vernon how unhappy he was with the direction the Habs were going.
Vernon told him he should demand a trade and get the hell out of there.
A year later, Vernon helped eliminate Roy's Avs in 6 games in the WCF en route to Detroit winning the Cup.
Funny how things happen.😁
