There are more deals tossed out on a random Tuesday than will be done at the trade window and 90 percent of them are one sided at best.

It's why I always say that in a trade scenario on CF, the fit is far more important than the value.
You could give up something silly and it won't matter if it doesn't make sense for the team to do it

The open issue is going to be valuation of cap filler. It rarely aligns.

That changes constantly with the market. Its tough to get a handle on. Right now its cheap due to market constraints (If you want any deal, you NEED to hold money) but as the cap inflates I think it will become more expensive again

Interesting because I think Marner could be talked into agreeing to waive his NMC to go to FLA, but... FLA is built for the playoffs and Marner is not. FLA declines.

I know Marner's NMC is the main issue, but if he's being traded, I think they are waiting until he has an extension in place to get full value. i.e. trading him next summer for a top pairing D + (would Columbus trade Werenski?), and then signing a competent 2C and top 4 D with his money (Lindholm & Hanifin/Forsling?). I think that's the play.

Yeah and now he deserves 11.5 million a year.....but is worth maybe a 2nd in trade value because reasons. The anti leaf bias isn't a thing though eh?
