1.
NSH
Soros would require a much larger return but having a top 5 goalie with the Hurricanes defense would make the hurricanes so much better.

Lankinen would be an improvement over Raanta and Kocketkov and is young enough that he could be long-term investement
    2.
    MTL
Would provide a lot of stability to the position
      3.
      ARI
Both are very solid options and would be great replacements for Raanta

Lankinen would be cheap. Saros is worth more than Carolina would be willing to pay

I am still of the opinion that the Canes should make a push on Gibson. Likely wouldn’t be terribly expensive, and might be able to get retention as well. Would also be a very good mentor for Kochetkov, with the Canes ending up with a situation much like Ullmark-Swayman in a couple of years. How about 24 1st, Gunler/Trikozov, and Honka for Gibson with ~2mil retained.

I think that would be a good deal... They get a few prospects and get to take a bad contract mostly off the books and we get a backup/1B to Kocketkov

Check the standings, Gibson isn't available, neither is Hart or Saros and Habs are trying to extend Monty who went on record as saying he wants to finish his career with the Habs so there is mutual interest in getting the deal done

Gibson will be available once the Ducks inevitably fall off and there will be more goalies available by the time the TDL comes to pass

I used to argue with Canes fans that Mrazek wasn't any good, but MANY Canes fans absolutely LOVED him. Said I was insane for questioning him. Welp, he's available.

Considering that none of the Flyers, Ducks, or Preds are firmly in a playoff spot, and it sounds like at least the Flyers and Preds are actively listening on offers, there is no guarantee that they don’t get moved. Gibson only has a 10 team NTC, with the Canes very unlikely to be on that list. Hart and Saros both don’t have any trade protection, so if a good enough offer comes along, I’m sure they would take it.

As for Montembeault, players say what the fans want to hear all the time. Hell, ever heard of someone named Tavares? He’s the poster child of that. Plus, he is only 27, so if he wanted to, he could certainly finish his career with the Habs, but that doesn’t mean he will only play for the Habs from now on.

Do you have a short attention span or do you just choose to be ignorant? All of the Ducks, Preds and Flyers are in the playoff chase, sure they may be listening to offers, as a GM it's part of your job but the more important part of a GM's job is to build a team capable of making the playoffs to have a shot at the cup. Teams who are within 5 points of a playoff spot, aren't trading away their starting goalies period. Ones like the Preds who already said they were trying to resign Saros and retool (not rebuild) have even less of a reason to trade their goalies. As fans on a fantasy site I get that you want them to be available but that doesn't mean they will be. Everyone on this site treats players like disposable possessions, they don't have any loyalties to the players, they just look at what other teams have that they want and try to get them. GM's make trades but they do it in a way as to take into account the players feelings and most of the time even work with the players to make trades that benefit both their team and the individual player as well. Look at Petry and DeSmith, Hughes came right out after acquiring them and spoke to them both to explain that they were gonna be traded again and not to worry about having to report to the Habs, he told them to just be with their families and he would get it sorted out as quickly as he could. Tavares situation was the outlier not the norm in the hockey community, Fox, P. Kane, Panarin and many, many, many other players say they want to remain with their team and then resign and spend their entire careers with their drafted teams. Sure sometimes it doesn't work out like with Roy where the player demands to be traded or an extension doesn't work out or whatever but for the most part players tend to be pretty loyal to their draft team. Things can and will always change but when players and teams say they want to extend, they normally aren't lying just to keep the fans happy, that is just your cynical view.

At what point did I say they would be traded now? Hell, around November-December last year, for example, the Flyers were around the top of the Metro. Then they fell off a cliff and finished 7th in the Metro. Being firmly in a playoff spot and being in the playoff hunt are 2 very different things, so while they are playing about .500 hockey right now, their situations might change by the end of December, and potentially to the point where they move a goalie.

I’m not saying that teams don’t at least try to work with their players to ensure they stay happy. I get that Tavares was an outlier rather than the norm, but over the last few years, it has become a bit more common. Fox only wanting to play for the Rangers, Gaudreau and Tkachuk situations with the Flames, and there are a few more examples. Whether I want these goalies to be available or not is irrelevant. Frankly, all I would want for the Canes at the moment would be for their goalies to be healthy and consistent, so that they don’t have to potentially jump through these hoops, but you can’t have your cake and eat it too, especially when you have no power in that situation. At the end of the day, it is still a business, and players are going to look out for their own interests first, with their team taking the back burner. As for my opinions as a fan, that’s all they are, useless opinions. In the grand scheme of things, they don’t matter. But hey, we at least get to entertain ourselves in argumentative banter on here. Cheers.

Saros would obviously be a home run, but he's probably worth more than the Canes would be willing to pay for a goalie. Ingram, Allen or Lankinen are still solid and way cheaper. Hell, we could even give Mrazek another go. I'd love to see us pick up Vejmelka, big fan of him. Would like to see what he could do with a better team around him. Plus he's under a good contract next year so we could run a tandem of Vejmelka-Kochetkov after this season.
