Does NJ really need a guy like Girard when they have Luke Hughes tho? Plus Byram is injury prone most years, Girard is almost like an insurance option CO always has.... I think it all depends on Landeskog tho, if he's healthy, which who knows if he will be, then they likely need to shed cap.

I believe Landeskog is going to be healthy right in time for game 1. Like Mark Stone last year. His cap hit isn’t going to count. You really need to give Byram the playing time for him to break out and reach his maximum potential. But yes I agree, Girard wouldn’t be really the guy to move, it would be Manson. For The Devils, I think adding someone like him is needed, he fits them perfectly, he’s very young, has experience, won the Stanley cup, locked up for next 4 years. After they lost Severson and Graves, I really believe they need a top 4 defenseman. It could cause issues when Nemec is going to get ready. To me right now, their défense isn’t a Stanley cup caliber one.
