It's a similar package that Horvat got. Lohrei and Poitras were non-starters last year, it's going to be the same this year.

I don’t believe you will. Pending FA depresses value more than fans want to admit. If the objective is to get 100% of expected value, sign him and eventually trade him

Well Lindholm is a better overall player than Horvat and I don’t see BOS’s 1st Round Pick being 15th-20th overall

Agreed - I don't think Calgary is getting a prospect much better than Lysell for Lindholm.

Maybe it would have been different if this trade was made last year when Lindholm had some term left and Poitras/Lohrei weren't definite NHLers with all their ELC years left.

Yes and No. Both Horvat & Hampus Lindholm for that matter were Pending UFAs when they were Traded for decent returns and Signed extensions after, so that’s up to the Team to have those conversations with the Players and their Agents, but yes I agree, it’d be best to negotiate a Sign & Trade up front if Term is a concern/issue

Boston has a history of making these type of trades and that package is the equivalent of what both teams received with Anaheim taking a premium because of bad contracts involved.

I can see a deal centered around Lindholm, Lysell/#1 but the question is what’s the extra to get it over the top. I don’t see it as Lohrei or Poitras. I could see a second or some other considerations.
