Among all 32 teams, the Kings need an average goalie the least. Not only would Mrazek immediately be their highest paid goalie, but he'd probably be behind Talbot, Copley, Rittich. They have 0 need for a goalie, and have all the leverage in this.

Mrazek isn't really even the 1B on Chicago yet. Soda faced Vgk, Tor, Bos vs Mrazek's Col, Mtl, Pit

I don't think Turcotte has this much value since he seems to be headed towards bust territory, you could probably get him for a 2nd and a 3rd.

I would love to bring Turcotte back to his hometown, but no one is paying this much for him. He certainly could be a late bloomer and still hit his ceiling, but he hasn't shown nearly enough to hold this kind of value. Which, I'm sure is a tough pill to swallow for LA fans, but it's the truth. If they aren't willing to cut ties, move on, and lower their expectations for a return, I say just wait until they do or he becomes a free agent, whichever comes first.

Can't see the Hawks spending a 1st on Turcotte. Or LA wanting Mrazak.

Mrazek could have some value as a backup on a contender but LAK doesn't seem like the right fit.

Turcotte is rapidly becoming a guy who will end up being swapped with some other team's bust in the hopes that a change of scenery fixes them both.

What about Roos, a 2nd and 3rd? I think bringing Turcotte back home would have a big impact on his mental game.

It's certainly possible. I was actually wondering if something involving Guttman for Turcotte could work. On one hand, LA would probably want CHI to add. On the other hand, draft position aside, who is the more accomplished Center at this point? It's Guttman... And personally I would want LA to add. Regardless, something like that would be neat from the perspective of sending them both back to their home towns.

I'm not sure we should give up a young player given our rebuild and Guttman looks like he can be a solid 4th liner. I'm just curious, having followed Turcotte since he was a kid, what has gone wrong since college and if we can find a way with him being closer to his family, to turn things around for him. He knows Vlasic as well, so maybe being closer to home will help him mentally.

LA might consider that, but I think even that is too much. Maybe a 2nd or a 3rd and Roos? Neither of which LA probably does. There is no arguing Turcotte's pedigree. But the fact is the guy has played like 100 games in 3 pro seasons. His injury issues are a HUGE red flag for me. I'm way more concerned about his physical issues. He's the LA version of Nic Robertson from Toronto. What good is his talent if he can't stay on the ice?

For sure. I even think Guttman could be much more than that, if he can get back to playing like he did in his stint last season before surgery. We also have plenty of guys on the way that will be solid 3rd and 4th liners. So, I figure leverage a solid bottom 9 forward on the upside of Turcotte and the chance that coming home might help. If he hits, great, and even better being a hometown hero. If he doesn't, then it was a worthwhile gamble that probably won't hurt too bad considering the talent and picks we have on the way... Unless Guttman turns into a star, that could hurt a bit.

Speaking of all the talent and picks we have on the way, it makes me wonder if guys like Guttman, Raddysh, Kaiser, Donato, etc. are purely trade bait, and not truly part of the future to begin with. If so, I don't see a problem making a few risky gambles. As long as KD doesn't squander too many assets on those sort of endeavors and end up with nothing, risk is just part of the game and I would be ok with it.

Raddysh is someone I am not high on. He seems to be all over the place (not in a good) when he plays. Maybe it's just my eye test and I know fans are high on him, but I just don't love his game. Maybe Raddysh for Turcotte?

I'm actually kind of with you on that. I see some promise with Raddysh, but, to me, I feel like, when he isn't scoring, he is completely invisible. As far as being all over the place, though, I think that is just part of KD and Richardsons plan. A sort of fast paced structured chaos. Now, whether that is being executed properly or not, is a different topic.

I don’t understand the fascination some Hawks fans have with Turcotte, sure he is from Chicago but the kid is quickly trending towards a bust. He can’t stay healthy and even when he is, he has shown to be nothing better then a
mediocre AHL player. At this point I wouldn’t trade more then a late third round pick for him.

On top of that, his dad picks his nose on national television!

I've followed him as a kid through Univ of Wisconsin and has a ton of talent. Somehow, between injuries and joining the pros, his development has gone wrong. The talent level is there though.
