I’d much rather have Huberdeau over Darnell Nurse. At least Huby has a 115 point season on his resume and he’s looking like he’s already bouncing back.

Whole line was bad last night at 5 on 5. Lindholm Huberdeau and Mangiapane all had pretty rough numbers. Was not a great game but Markstrom kept them in it. I think the D-zone system change is dragging a bunch of metrics down for a lot of guys. Early season wrinkles, he's looked miles better already this year than at any point last season. Kadri and his line was a major concern last night, defensive zone night mare that can't maintain o zone time zone time.

Nurse plays a lot of ice time with McDavid and Drai so of course he’s gonna score a lot of points. Same with Nuge. But Huberdeau’s drop in points was mainly because of Sutter; he was bounced around from line to line constantly and developed no chemistry with any of his linemates as a result. His confidence also dropped as a result of the Sutter coaching disasterclass, however he has since regained it and is already looking a lot better than last year. And yeah his contract isn’t great, but neither is Nurse’s. Nurse isn’t a bad player but he is only the third best defenceman in the Oilers and yet he is making more than Makar and Hughes.

Ekholm and Bouchard are better than Nurse imo. Nurse isn’t great defensively, and most of his points come from McDavid and Drai.
