I think another PK body would be helpful. Not sure Foote is the guy, but it does feel like we’re in one injury away from an awful bottom pair.

He may not be the perfect guy, but I like the potential fit for the future more than the present. If it doesn't work out, there is always the tdl.

Rather use the roster spot on someone who's earned it in camp like Tufte. Foote just isn't worth demoting someone else for.

In what I saw this pre-season, he wasn't bad in his own zone. He is rather slow though. Probably #8 or #9 dman on most competitive teams...but could see a team in need of 3RD claim him.

He's not fast by any means, but I'm not one who thinks every guy needs to bring speed. I think Colorado is a good spot for him, as Bednar allows dmen to play to their instincts. Imo, that's something Foote was good at before hitting the NHL, and it could be what he needs to begin to hit his potential. And if not, no harm no foul.

I acknowledge he's never going to be what he was supposed to be when drafted, but I still don't think a 5-6 is outside the realm of possibility.

Okay so I laughed at the first comment. The second. I'm not sold on Tufte. He's always tantalized and then disappointed when it counts. I watched him a fair amount at Duluth and always felt pretty meh about his game.

If Foote can't cut it, then he gets waived and Tufte (or someone) else can come up then. I'd take the shot though. Like I said, I feel like he could excel in Colorado. And if not, oh well. Easy to pull the rip cord.
