i'm sure they'd go their usual route of getting a good back up and making him into a starter over paying geo 6 mil and letting byram go. The return would have to a major over pay for them to move byram at this point and i don't think anyone is willing to give up that much. There's other ways to make this work over letting a top 2 guy go

Fully agree. First cap casualty is Manson. If that doesn't get there, it's George. And if that doesn't work, then maybe Sam. Can't see them moving Byram without trying pretty much every other reasonable option first.

Yeah I agree. Byram asking for $8m+ would be tricky to make work though as you'd have to cut a lot of depth. He's probably going to be tough to negotiate with (big ego) too

A 2c is a little light, Avs picked one up for nothing. Byram should be returning a 1c if he was traded. If it's because he priced himself out of Colorado, he will probably return more. I think they will be able to keep him up to 10m, its Georgiev, LOC, Girard, Manson and possibly Kovelenko that will be tough to resign. You're off on Byram's character. He may confidently know his potential, but he understands where he's at and is honest about it. He has a lot of people in his life to keep his "big ego" in check.
