I was balancing the pick going the other way as well.
I assume the depth was needed as Pelletier is likely out for a while.
Maybe 3rd in return is more inline.

Peddle your trash elsewhere, Calgary wouldn't take Pezzetta if you gave him away. We need cap space not a scrub left shot AHL winger on an NHL contract. The Flames already have multiple younger better cheaper left shot forwards who they don't have room on the NHL roster for.

How about Kevin Rooney for Montreal's 2024 2nd?

Or Zary. I'd go with Zary or Klapka over Hunt or Rooney. Zary for more skill and the ability to play any forward position, Klapka for lots of size and grit with decent skill.

It wasnt very long ago Zary got injured in camp and Pelletier wound up getting his spot on the AHL team's top line. Could be Zary gets Pelletier's spot on the NHL roster this time around since Pelletier is injured.

A 2nd seems too much for Pezzetta, even with a 4th coming back. He's low enough on the depth chart that Montreal might have to waive him at some point. If I think I have a spot for him I'd offer a 4th.

My top 2 would be scary and hunt. Then Klapka Zara had a nice goal the other night. And hunt been good throughout preseason, idk I’m still not sold on klapka for some reason
