You do know that the $4.25 million performance bonus will go against the Leafs cap next year?

I love how Leaf fans think that just because Patrick Kane is skating in Toronto, That he's going to sign there. Pierre-Luc Dubois trains in Detroit in the off season but he went to LA. Plus there's no freaking way Kane is signing for league minimum.

Kane doesn’t need a bonus he only wants to sign with the team leading the league when he’s ready to return and I’m really down on zadorov but I would probably do this

The player has signed a one-year contract and is over 35 years old.

Didn't read discription... And you don't realize that Kane chooses where he goes, Toronto or elsewhere

Yeah i'm pretty sure that Kane will be offered in the $4,000,000 to $5,000,000 range perhaps from home town Buffalo. So i doubt that performance bonus means anything to him.

There are obviously other ways of getting around this (singing him and having him sit on LTIR to not get over the cap) but this one is more well known...

As for the if, wouldn't that tell your players that you believe in them? It's not like they have 8 more years to figure it out, why not show your, as a new gm, confidence in that 21 man roster?

Coming off a hip injury, it's not... And the Leafs don't ever have to activate anyone off of LTIR once they are placed there lol... Think Kucherov and Stone on their respective situations

That only works if he is somehow hurt all of the way until the playoffs which just isn’t going to be the case. He will be back by Christmas at the latest you can’t stash him on LTIR for 4 months until the playoffs unless you want the league to get involved with heavy consequences lol.

Thats a big if...again. There's been no indication that Cowan or Minten will ever be top nine players, much less as early as next year.

Who says someone else wouldn't be hurt by then? Bert, Matthews, Marner, Rielly, Brodie, Tavares for example don't have the healthiest track record
