I can’t see Stammer waiving or Tampa trading him for that. Dude can still put up 80 plus points a year. Not to mention Goodrow would be viewed as a cap dump with his current contract. Laf isn’t enough to carry the deal in my opinion.

Tampa is not trading Stamkos and NYR aren’t paying that price.

Tampa isn't trading Stamkos, Besides he'll eat half of the Rangers salary cap next season by himself. And they'd still need to sign about 8 more players with barely $7,500,000 in cap space.

Tampa would be crazy if they didn't try to get Stamkos to waive if offered that return. Yeah- he put up 80 points last year...but he'll be 34 at season end. At some point his production will fall off the cliff. The foolish team that signs up for that-after giving a boatload of high end assets- is the type of team that deserves one Cup every 80 or so years- all while setting up TBL for their next contention window!
