No real long explanation needed here, perhaps this benefits both teams, at least what they are trying to accomplish. Jackets get closer to the playoffs with more immediate help, Flyers get good future pieces, and Marchenko can hopefully ease the transition of Michkov, if Russia ever lets him come over.

I think the Jackets have enough D to cover the loss of Boqvist. if Jiricek doesn't make it out of camp, Blankenburg will surely cover for him until he does make it.

This could have merit. I can see it for Columbus, as they seem to want to get into the playoffs now instead of waiting for their pool of recent high draft picks. Boqvist and Marchenko are only three years younger than Konecny, so I think it depends on how much upside Philadelphia thinks they have. Konecny's trade value should be fairly high with two years left at a good cap hit, so they shouldn't have to settle for guys they're not confident will pan out.

Marchenko isn't getting traded. He has fit in fantastically with the Jackets and the thought of trading him after waiting 4 years for him to come over from Russia and setting a rookie goal scoring record for the team is hilarious.

I like Konecny fine, but I’d much rather have Marchenko — a guy who has barely scratched the surface and will be a much better player. Konecny isnt gonna suddenly push the CBJ into the playoffs. That leaves Boqvist for a 5th, which is laughable, and I’m not even a big Boqvist fan.
