Trying to think of Eichel trade as comp but then you add some.

No Petey trade will ever get as much as it should and tbh i doubt he actually gets moved, but if he does this is what I think itll be.

Again, hes worth more than this but if he demands out (which would need to happen for him to get moved), this is what i could see

I think the Canucks would get better offers than that, but it's not like an insulting offer or anything

And Eichel isn't a good comp. The Tkachuk trade would be the most recent and relevant comp

It starts with Edvinsson and/or Kasper

Also the Canucks won’t be taking back Copp in the trade unless we get a good sweetener added to take him. Yzerman made the mistake giving him that contract we aren’t going to bail him out of it while giving up a franchise C

Petey to Detroit starts with one, if not both, of Edvinsson and Kasper. If you want a franchise C you have to give up high end pieces

Also not taking back Copp’s contract unless there’s an additional 1st minimum for taking it on

Yeah nah. I'd include Edvinsson, but certainly not both. Edvinsson-Lombardi-two 1sts I'd do. That's probably max, though.

Thinking Copp's contract requires another 1st as a dump is almost as insane as trading a mid-1st in a loaded draft for an injury prone RD that's decent top-4, but extremely prone to some of the dumbest/worst plays imaginable.

    A few things:

    1) You haven't included any of Kasper, Edvinsson, or Seider (or Raymond) in this trade. Without one of those elite assets (or two), I think the Canucks hang up. Like, you're even putting trade protection on one of the assets in the form of a top-5 condition...you can't get quality in this case without giving some up. Which leads me to my second point...

    2) You are comparing Petey to Eichel, which may be fair NOW, but you have to remember the situation when Eichel was traded: he needed neck surgery, and was going to have a procedure that had an element of uncertainty. There was a chance he never panned out for VGK. Basing a trade for Petey on that misses the context, aka the horrible position Buffalo was trading from given Eichel's condition and the lack of interested suitors.

I don’t know much about Lombardi, but Edvinsson + 2 1sts is a very solid offer in the event Pettersson wants a trade

And the Canucks have had enough bad contracts with term, no interest in taking on a 3rd liner making 5.625M for another 3 seasons unless we get a good sweetener

Lambo is a pretty good prospect, but I don't foresee his ceiling more than a bottom-6 PP specialist. I think the proposed one above is better than the one I proposed. Wallinder is a sneakily good prospect. Has just the same ceiling as Edvinsson and a lot of potential to get there. Edvo is still better, no doubt, but Wallinder is a good shot to be a top-4 guy.

I wanted a Wallinder-Willander pairing once I found out Tom existed. They'd compliment each other insanely well, unironically. High offense (Wallinder) with great defense (Willander).

a Red Wings podcast I listen to kept saying Willander when talking about Wallinder. In the prospect tourney, casters mixed it up a few times, too.

Eichel also had, you know, a contract with several years term.

If Vancouver trades pettersson it will be because he refuses to sign

Thats why 1st was added and a B+/A- prospect in Wallinder. Plus EIchel had a deal in place at a fair deal while Petey will immediately make 12+ mil.

And that fair you could include Raymond but if im Vancouver id rather get someone younger and a pick to take who we want. Unless they clean house, they dont really need wingers.

Maybe Kasper in the deal too but its not like its drastically different between him and Danielson in terms of value, even tho I think they are far apart it seems like NHL GMs dont. Again, feel free to swap in Kasper but it seems like these comments on here are pissed its not Seider, larkin, 3 1st and 3 2nds lol
