Whats the most reasonable price for a Duclair trade

Créé par: Brolekb2b

Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Tatar is gone for a reasonable price, Duclair will more than likely be shopped at the deadline or so
Transactions
1.
TBL
  1. Duclair, Anthony (1 300 000 $ retained)
Détails additionnels:
Duclair fills the void of 2RW for Tampa. SJ gets two picks (though not in the current draft) and a potential roster player or at the worst case just system depth
SJS
  1. Barré-Boulet, Alex
  2. Choix de 2e ronde en 2025 (TBL)
  3. Choix de 5e ronde en 2025 (TBL)
Détails additionnels:
I've always been open to giving ABB a chance, but if he's always been given limited roles in the system then he's got no chance to thrive here.
Given his last season in the AHL he definitely has the potential to be something, but more than likely not with us. Trading him to SJ allows him to compete for a consistent roster spot on a rebuilding team at an NHL level, and possibly secure a top-6 role if he's good enough. Bit of a gamble nonetheless but at the very least it's a skater going back to SJ and one that helps make the salary work.

The ask for Duclair has generally been a 2nd, so can either add an additional 4th or 5th to help smooth it over. Or something around here, discuss
2.
TBL
ARI
  1. Myers, Philippe
  2. Choix de 7e ronde en 2024 (MIN)
  3. Choix de 6e ronde en 2025 (TBL)
Détails additionnels:
Sent to Guantanamo, the gulag, the moon, anywhere but here

Could be AHL depth/call up for Arizona following a more than likely Dumba/Stecher trade for the right side

SJS just signed duclair (no idea why) but if Im SJS its this offer (late) 2nd next year or wait till season/TDL see if can get better for him - a gamble but a contender might be desparate for middle 6 W, ABB and the late pick dont do much.
AZ trade the logic is iffy - sure if not playing meaningful games @ TDL dumba and/or stecher are traded but rather bring up young prospect than myers. still prolly do just cause 1 year and 2 late picks can be used for something else

Other than the PP Stamkos plays the middle or right. I can't understand it but CF. Also had Barre-Boulet as a center for 2-3 year he wasn't.

I don't see the Sharks trading Duclair with retention for 2025 picks a month after they traded for him. The value isn't terrible, but I think the Sharks would want 2024 assets.

Still cannot believe they spent 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and Foote on Jeannot.

Makes you think what kind of demand he carried and what team ending up losing is thanking their lucky stars

Are you serious? Because he's a very good player. That's why they got him. He's certainly worth MUCH more that the 5th and Lorentz that we paid to get him.

Look at what people on here value him at. a 2nd +. With top 6 ice time he could have a 50-60+ point season and get a 1st + at the deadline

Foote was basically opening cap space he wasn't playing and Brisebois flat out said he wasn't going to qualify him. He's slower than Maroon in fact, he makes Maroon look like a power skating figure skater.

Im not at all saying he isnt good - he is very solid and good scorer - was meaning SJS is in the tear down phase of rebuilding why trade for a guy on last year of deal (and give up pick and young player) SJS is finishing at the bottom with or without him, sure TDL get something (dont see a 1st for rental, plus risk of that - has crap season or gets hurt - might be a 4th or worse. I dont get SJS they trade away top players (like going into full rebuild) but trade/sign getting veterans.
Add SJS have 2 retention spots filled for next 2 years - further hampering ability to TDL players

The guys they brought in were cap dumps to make the money work and are on short term deals. Also won't move the needle much in the standings but can get value back at the deadline. As for the retention slots, they can just bring in a third team to retain and let them have a 5th that would otherwise go to us. There's a ton of deals like that at the deadline.

Ok on hoffman / duclair 1 year, granlund / rutta have 2 years left. of the 47 trades at the TDL 2023 only 3 involved 3 teams and only one (kane) had a 3rd party only taking retention for pick. hope for SJS your right about how easy to move these guys

Considering Duke's cap hit is 3 mil and Babaranov is 2.5 those should be able to be moved without retention. Hoffman would need retention. Rutta is a good guy to have for another year and that retention slot opens back up for Granlund next year. There's also going to be cap dumps coming the other way as well, so it's not just retention that will get deals done
