Suzuki is worth more than that... and would still fit a rebuild window - just absurd.

everyone hates Suzuki here, I get he would fit the window, but for his sake, let him compete before 28-29 (In this scenario obviously). SJ would be closer to contention here than MTL would

Edmonton declines hard. They don't need to dump Campbell (who has had 1 bad year out if the past 5 -sheesh) and they have no use for Matheson. There's simply no value here for Edmonton.

If the Leafs were interested at all -- the value may be close depending on how highly they're valuing Niemela.... but would have to make 3 other trades to fit the cap space.

Don’t see the Canucks paying a 2nd+ for a backup. If they can find the cap space I’d do a late round pick for Desmith though

LOL, as if Matheson on the 3rd pairing would make a difference.

Edmonton could get a far better return for their assets than an LHD they don't need.

Just play Ekholm on the right, bang, one of the best top 4 in the league. Matheson was better than Nurse last year anyways

Broberg is being groomed for top-4 right side. He was paired with Ekholm yesterday.

Whatever stats you want to look at doesn't change the fact that Edmonton doesn't need to trade him.

sure, he still has a chance to be good, but if you want the cup, Broberg better not be in your top 4 next year

Was more just pointing out he doesn’t only have 1 bad season in the last 5. Edmonton should give him another year to try and bounce back though

Save percentage and GAA are pretty team dependent stats, especially compared to GSAx. But in that timeframe his stats are
22/23: .888 SV%, 3.41 GAA
21/22: .914 SV%, 2.64 GAA
20/21: .921 SV%, 2.15 GAA
19/20: .904 SV%, 2.80 GAA

All depends on which stats you want to use. His overall sv% was above league average in 4 of the past 5 seasons. I don't think GSAx is as definitive as you seem to.

We'll see. But he posted a 59% xGF% as a 21 year old, so that's promising. He's tracking as a top-4 defender, there's no harm in trying him out there now. If he's not ready we already know Ceci is capable of playing top-4, so there's cover.

In my opinion SV% and GAA can be heavily team dependent stats, especially compared to GSAx. But Campbell’s SV% has been lower than league average 2 of the last 4 seasons
22/23: .888 (league average .904)
21/22: .914 (league average .907)
20/21: .921 (league average .908)
19/20: .904 (league average .910)
