I have a feeling tree is trying to talk Brodie into a trade and gets forwards in return in case he can't re-sign Nylander and to use the forwards to go and get a defenseman at some point if he can re-sign Nylander I think brodie is the move even tho he can help the Leafs I think it's smart and I think a few teams would bite on that move.

Nylander won't be coming to Detroit because Yzerman isn't going to give him anything close to what he wants.

I know that Leafs fans think Nylander is the 3rd best player in the world after Matthews and Marner because the hockey universe only revolves around Toronto, but if Yzerman really wants to sign "Willy Nilly" Nylander, he'll make a bid in free agency.
