This is the opposite direction Detroit is trying to go. We wanted to get tougher this year, this makes us less tough. We are also trying to build a winning culture and this wouldn't help that. We also just signed Maatta to an extension so he's likely not going anywhere. Value aside, which isn't enough for Detroit, many other reasons we don't make that trade.

Jarnkrok is coming off a career year, plays hard and is good defensively and is versatile while making just 2.1. For a late second, it seems worth it for a team looking for depth. He could get more tbh

I'd 100% rather have Rasmussen than a late 1st

Detroit has no reason to trade Ras. Maata gets more with retention than a 5th either TDL, next summer, or next TDL.
