I agree with Nikishin for Gunler, but I think at that point it's close enough. Adding two 70+ point producers, even for the best player in the league, on top of a top 10 prospect in the league, another great blueline prospect and 2 1sts seems like a touch much

OP didn't bother to send down Kochetkov. In conjunction with waiving the 7 and 8 D, it fits cap wise.

I look at it from Edmontons side, youd want to replace Mcdavid 120 points = Necas and Aho, they'd also want sweeteners = Nikishin and a 1st.

The reality is the only way he gets traded is if he wants to be. And I doubt Carolina is going to be his preferred destination.

A trade needs to make sense from both sides. Even if the Cap worked (which it doesn't) why would a team move another 70+ point producer on top of their best player, two best prospects, and two 1st round picks, even if it's for McDavid? He's not got long term stability with just 3 years left. He's not a certainty to extend by any means either. If it's Necas instead of Aho (I don't have a clue how you make the money work) maybe, but both doesn't make sense for the Canes.
