It's a common misconception, Pesce is more than happy in Carolina, but Carolina do not want to go that long with him. If he was going to sign something like this, it would be done already. It takes a gigantic f**k up from an agent to make the Canes genuinely consider moving one of their core pieces, which Pesce is. I'd even argue 7 is about fair, it's the term that's off-putting

You're being too harsh on Trevling. Undoubtedly Dumba was expecting a long term , 5m contract in early July. Leafs might have offered Dumba 4m but he refused. Teams and players rushed to sign in the first week of July. Unfortunately for Dumba, teams and cap ran out so he was forced to sign with a non contender and contract he really didn't want.
