There is no way the Leafs are signing 30 year old Guentzel to seven years. Minten won't be NHL ready. But the Leafs will have cap without Marner but maybe not a top UFA.

I have a strong feeling if Woll looks like the real deal this year than Trevling allows Sammy to walk away and he'll sign a veteran backup goalie for half the cost of Sammy.

Isn't he still eligible for the Calder? Do you really want to risk that with only 1 true season of Woll?

Woll will be 26 yrs old next summer. Late bloomer like Hasek and Binnington.

Well, I wouldn't say that, the choice was Hasek or Eddie Belfour, as both young goalies were with the Hawks.
The Hawks went with Eddie and he had a HOF career, so no complaints there.
It's the same as the Leafs choosing to keep Justin Pogge over Tuuka Rask.
Now that young goalie decision was the bigger blunder.

Binnington is the guy i was thinking about and what I'd be worried about if I were a Leafs fan. He's horrible.

It's not an uncommon thing to jump on a 1 year goalie and then give him a contract he doesn't deserve.
