What's with everyone's obsession of flipping Kubalik? I have seen multiple ACGM doing this, they literally just acquired him, he's still somewhat young, and on a good AVV. Why on earth would the Sens trade him without giving him a chance. Such a lateral move to get rid of him just to bring in an older Tatar.

We'll Tatar is better, so there's that. He's also on an expiring contract and won't fit here next year, But also he'd be an actual asset that teams would be interested in, so paired with Joseph could mean you get something in return instead of only providing assets to get rid of joesph.

So agree here, I really don't understand why anyone would think trading a player like Kubalick who the org hasn't seen play yet this off-season for an older Tatar is a good idea.

What is really killing OTT right now is the fact they can't gid rid of Murray's Dead cap enough though he is on LTIR, add another thing to a long list of reasons Sens should not have gotten him.

I do think Joseph is going to be the odd one out, which is unfortunate he is a great 3rd line player and a great PK player.

There are flaws to the idea of using Kubalik as the "sweetener" to getting rid of Joseph though. The main one being your are limiting your trade partners to teams that have both two forward roster spots open and a total of 5.5M in cap space. Very few teams are going to hit on both of those right now.

I can guarantee you that the Ducks don't want both players and certainly are not giving up a 2nd round pick for them.

Exactly, also would put the Sens in the exact same spot as last year where they are lacking depth. They finally just addressed this issue and losing 2 middle 6 forwards is supposed to benefit them?

Good deal for the Ducks IMO but not sure their fans would want to do it. Makes their forward group quite better in reality though

But with their internal budget, not even sure the Ducks do it

It could be my fault as I have been repeating how trading Kubalik instead of Joseph was a no brainer. Trading both would even better if you use some of that saved cap to get a better player, like it's done in this ACGM

Unfortunately it wouldn't really work as no team has 2 forward spots and that much salary to invest

I also wouldn't say that they "acquired" him. They took him as a salary return in the DeBrincat fiasco. Not saying he is a bad player, he is a pretty decent middle six scorer but trading him for a pick wouldn't be a PR disaster, just that it would add a pick to the return instead of a UFA to be that we might not even be able to afford anyway (gotta sing Pinto and Sanderson to long term extensions and find a replacement for Tarasenko)
