Description

All Habs fans are convinced that the Habs will finish last in the division. They have no chance at the playoffs.

I understand why. The Division is stacked with talent. It would take several players making a Quantum Leap to even sniff the post-season.

That being said when I look at this team, it feels like a team that is underachieving. I really like the young core. I think it's not unreasonable to expect multiple players to add 20+ points to their points totals from last season. Off the back of some strong Goaltending, maybe we can squeak into the post season?

If we can add a player like Lindholm, I really think this team is just much more competitive than people give them credit for

MTL will have a hard time climbing outta last place in the division

And it’s gonna take time for u guys to move up the standings

1- bc all the teams closest to you are years ahead in rebuilding, & have already started the climb back up the ladder

2- and the teams declining, are still a few years away from really bottoming out

Love reading these types of comments especially after reading articles where analysts rank the rebuilding team in terms of closest to playoff contention and Montreal is 2nd on the list behind (I believe) Columbus. See link below

It's all speculation until they actually do it. But I think the Habs have as much of a chance as Detroit & Ottawa to rise from the basement this season. It depends how much the players want it, and I think with no Drouin, Hoffman, Armia around, they would want it quite a lot.

Not sure if that is tongue in cheek, but it is controversial because as far as I can tell half of Habs fans want them to go for it and the other half want them to tank.
