If I'm reading the tea leaves correctly, Dostal goes to SD to stabilize the backend. Mintyukov, Zellweger, Gaucher, and more report to San Diego this year, I think Verbeeks trying to make it as attractive as possible for Leo to report there. Go to San Diego, win a championship, play with several of your future team mates, adapt to the NA game and work with Ducks skills coaches on the skating.

even though I’m a Sabres fan i want to make sure you know that I’m not interested in Backlund or Hanifin AT ALL & don’t think the Sabres should trade for them
*so this isn’t a case of me wanting to get them cheap

Now to answer your question….
If i were CGY, I’d be thrilled to get a prospect like Rosen for a rental in Backlund
Olofsson, although a rental himself, is still young enough that he can be re-signed & score a bunch of goals for u guys- OR- u can trade him at the deadline for a pick(s), as goal scorers are always in demand
Jokiharju, although inconsistent (mostly bc of various injuries) is a 2nd pair RD talent who can take Tanev’s spot
A 3rd is what it is & Bryson doesn’t have much (if any) trade value


So, Backlund for Rosen
Hanifin for Olofsson (worth at least 2nd, maybe more), a 3rd, and Jokiharju

You are getting 2 pieces of decent value imo (Olofsson & Jokiharju), and in Rosen i think you’re getting a piece that has pretty good value

Could u get a better deal if u split them up & sold them separately?
Possibly, but not for sure imo
And certainly not in the same package, as VERY FEW teams have the Cap Space to do it
