If the Kings are giving up a 1st and 2nd for a rental they might as well go for Hellebuyck.

Hart will be an RFA so they’d still have his rights not quite a rental

You forget the player would actually have to want to go to the team. If I’m Helle I’d rather go to a real contender not LAK

Hart is not a rental he is an RFA...retention of a players rights is never considered a rental.

He does not have a NTC, his choice is his after this season.

So? I’m sure him and Winnipeg have a good relationship. Teams don’t move players places they don’t want to go NTC or no NTC because players talk and it would look bad. Nobody is going to force their player out without facing backlash from it

It's no secret that the Kings biggest missing piece to be a Stanley Cup contender is an elite goalie, they will have enough money to give him $8.5M next season, and they are icing a stronger team than they did at the start of last season. I don't see why he would openly say he's not interested to one of the few playoff contenders who are in need of his services and have the cap space next season. Is there some place where he indicated he has no interest in going to LA or you just assuming this?

I’m assuming because I don’t think LA are cup contenders. I don’t see them being better than 5th best in the West at best. Obviously you are biased as a fan so you will say they have a real shot but I don’t see it.

I was in on TK at one point, but the ship has sailed there. I don't sense any interest from the Waddell regime now.

I'm sure my opinion on the Kings has some bias. But I just don't understand your logic, the jets want to maximize their return for Hellebuyck and LA is probably the most desperate playoff team at the goal position, and has a history of overpaying the jets, and they could add a conditional pick if he extends in LA (who has the money to pay him what he wants) . As a GM your job is to get the most assets for the player you move.

If you make it so you can only trade him to the 4 teams who are Stanley cup contenders, it's only Toronto, right? Are there others you had in mind. Just seems like as the Jets GM, you hear as many offers you can on him and you take the biggest haul.

I don’t think LA should offer the biggest haul because even with him I don’t see them good enough to truly contend that’s what I’m trying to say is they shouldn’t give up what they probably need to to get him

I don't have to much interest in him anymore but honestly I'd take that deal.
