Willy isn't going to sign under $10 million, and the leafs can't afford to lock that much on the right side with Marner coming due.

Leafs also need Tavares out of 2C and there is no one viable on the roster for that spot.

This requires Calgary to concede that 2024 will not be there year, and they will retool for the 2025 season.

Proposal: Leafs reach out to Calgary with the following proposal:
Lindholm to the leafs @ 50% retention

For Lindholm, Leafs give a 1st, Fraser Minton as a Center prospect (2 changes to develop Lindholm's replacement in house)

For Retention, Leafs offer Jarnkrok who will not replace Lindholm, but is on a good money deal, and flexible on the roster positon wise, plus a 3rd.

Leafs then lock Lindholm up to a 7*$9 million deal, while keeping a $7Million dollar Willy in a contract year.
