I have heard of him, mentioned him in intro. This is not a list of best defensive players…but best team under cap. So he got cut. Kopitar and Marner fall in same boat.

Take out Cirelli and Staal, add Stone and Protas and put a different backup goalie

I think Matthews defense is underrated...but I think Kopitar, Stone and Marner are the creme of the crop. Too many to mention all...Barkov, etc

Marner doesn't... As a Leafs fan who's watched him for so long... Marner's defense is only great bc of Matthews' puck recovery rate/defensive awareness

If you said Stone, Kopitar and Barkov, no complaints... But it's only bc you used Marner

Marner and Stone are two of the best at defending in open ice and in neutral zone. Pick pockets.
