Description

-Sakic has overvalued Duchene so much that no other teams want to trade for him
-Jenner is a top-6 forward with potential who can play center, former 30 goal scorer and gives gives more depth on wing
-Murray may not be a flashy D-man but when healthy he gets the job done and he currently is a top-4 defenseman who is cheaper plus can remain under team control
- CBJ 2018 1st round pick (25-31 ranged pick) helps boost trade value and pick is in a stronger draft class
-The 2018 3rd round conditional pick is what can make Sakic bite (Becomes 2nd round pick in 2018 if Duchene signs extension with CBJ)
-Must overpay to bring in Steve Mason to split stars with Varlamov
-Even with these trades and signings THIS TEAM IS STILL TRASH

So Duchene whose cap hit is twice as much as Jenner is worth all that. You know both players had the same number of goals 18 and, yes Duchene has 7 more assists. Wow, looks like Joe Sakic made this post.

'will be'? Already have, more than 18 months. Perhaps that's why this deal hasn't been done yet?

hard to put up decent numbers when you are one of the only 3 good forwards on the team...can easily be a 60-70 point scorer as a #2 center on a contender w/ decent wingers.

This deal is probably too much to give up in the offseason, but if PLD isn't playing that well as a 2c, this deal will easily be a good one for CBJ at the TDL if they are serious playoff contenders...if they need a serviceable defensemen to vill the void of Murray, there are ample out there that they can trade for (Gudas/Lovejoy/etc)

I'm sure Duchene had prime PP time unlike Jenner. But you are correct,Duchene might do better in difference surroundings. Still CBJ was a top 3 team in the East, I don't see how Duchene is really going to help.
