You're being overly optimistic on those returns I would think. Plus there is lots of completion from other "sellers'. Other non playoff teams will have be sellers and those teams have upcoming UFAs that will be on the market.

Columbus is already overstuffed on the blue line, no space for Zadorov. Pass.

Who do you think I'm over valuing? I can find comparables for all those players who went for similar or more.

I am very interested in Hanifin, Lindholm, Backlund, Tanev and Zadorov for the Leafs.

Backlund + Tanev would be great deadline adds.

Hanfin and Lindholm should cost too much.

Zadorov would add a nice amount of size to our bottom pair.

I would guess that the Leafs and Calgary make a trade for one or 2 of those guys this year.

Arizona who isn't making the playoffs, isn't paying a second for upcoming UFA Kylington.
CBJ who destined to be a non playoff team isn't paying a high second rounder for Zakarov.
Lindholm is nice but you want lots of picks and for Bruins to deconstruct their roster to make the cap work. And extension talk just to get more assets is most improbable. And what will be Lindholm's extension at near age 30 when his next contract starts.

Kylignton was a 3rd, and Phoenix needs some D depth and it looks like they're trying to be more competitive next season. They have tons of picks so won't really miss it.
Two 1sts and a 2nd is the going rate for top Centers.
Zadorov I'll probably agree with you on, but look what leafs fans keep offering for him a young former 1st round pick and a 3rd in most of the trades I see.

I could see Backlund going there at the TDL.

Just a note...so many Leaf fans hate their own. See you traded three Flame Dmen, and one Flame who was injured last season. Flames were just average defensively last season, Are these guys such difference makers?

The Flames had I believe the 7th worst goal tending in the league last year. The 3 D men still all managed to come out positive in +/- and all won there minutes based on advanced stats. Kylignton wasn't injured, he was gone for personal reasons, no one knows what they were for.
