For as solid of a player as Backlund is, Seattle doesn't have the cap space or desire to trade that hefty of a package for a 34 year old rental. They would decline this trade offer.

Seattle definitely says no, backlund has never been worth that much even in his prime years.

Pitsburgh probably doesn’t do that trade aswell since they got Pettersson/ Graves/ Poj all who need play time. Unless Pettersson is moved which I just can’t see, he has been their best dman defensively for a while now.

Toronto another one who will be restricted by cap problems and already having a plugged dcore and not many guys they can afford to bench.

Boston though would probably have to greatly consider this trade. If they were able to reach out to lindholms agent and have chats about a potential post trade extension and if he would be willing to re-sign then I think they would consider.

If this was a couple weeks ago maybe the Pens consider that. As of right now they have no cap space and no room for Hanifin
