Carter and Granlund joining a obviously exceptionally better team than the penguins would increase their production immediately but also Nylander and Brodie could give the pens a boost so it works for both teams Granlund resurgence rutta help bottom pairings and adds size compared to Brodie, similar to Holl who left but is cheaper and probably better and the young D are all euros, carter comes to Toronto for a year or 2 and pays with Tavares, helps guys with the culture...plus Toronto gets draft picks, nylanders probably happy...the rationales are endless.

Hey, for what its worth you just eliminated the need for Pittsburgh to rebuild after Sid, Malkin and Letang hang em' up. That's seriously impressive work.

Calm down people overestimate the value of one single player in my opinion, Matthews has missed games and the Leafs do find, Reilly missed play last year...I like the idea of using Nylander to bring in a couple guy to make a more well rounded group and Domi Bertuzzi coming in will change this team just need a couple more work horses especially considering Matthews, Marner, Tavares are the pillars I have no issues with a Nylander move...that's the way I see it...Nylander is much better but did you see that terrible Toffoli trade to jersey? These things are not always perfect transactions rarely so I like to make it a bit weird too because it's usually more realistic.

I would imagine that would be their plan anyways if you can retool on the fly it is an option that teams use by bringing in their next face if possible so I would think getting Nylander is enticing but the fact that the pens still want to contend..

Toronto media is often on their own program, results matter...lucky it's the summer because coverage on the Leafs is so confused about everything they have no clue where treiliving 's head is at, if it's not completely obvious they don't understand nuance in Toronto so whether they like something or not I don't really care...they often really loved Justin Holl and throw mud at fans for their opinions all the time....tree seems like a guy that isn't affected by opinions from the media.

You get the worse player in the trade in all 3. Nylander is better than Granlund, Robertson over Carter is easy, Brodie over Rutta is easy.
