You might think it's fair, but it doesn't offer Winnipeg an incentive to do it, so it's unlikely they do.

Regardless of whether this is fair value or not as you both disagree the Hawks wouldn't do this trade.

Heinola isn't an upgrade over Vlasic, Phillips, Kaiser, or Korchinski who are the future at LD. At least two of them are locks for next season with Kaiser probably switching back and forth on both sides. Some team that's not very deep at that position might send you a couple of 2nd's but the Hawks aren't that team.

I don't know... I think the Hawks decline this. The ONE part of the Hawks' pipeline that is full, is LD. They have good prospects the Hawks are developing in the AHL that are ready for the show, as well as others coming behind them. If Heinola were a RD, the Hawks would have more interest, IMO. I doubt anyone pays that much for Heinola, especially knowing he has asked for a trade. He is 4 years removed from his draft year and still hasn't solidified himself as an NHLer in the least bit. Regardless of all that, CHI isn't looking for LHD in the least bit.
