Oilers say no to Carolina. Pesce scored 5 goals last season, there’s absolutely 0 chance we give up 2 of our best prospects, our current top RHD and a 1st round pick for a one-year rental. The hype around Pesce is insane, he’s good but he’s nowhere close to this valuable.

I get not wanting him and having a different valuation. But basing your argument around how many goals pesce scored is silly. If you’d like, take Skjei for that package, he had 18 goals last year.

Wait. Ceci is Edmonton's "current top RHD"? Ouch. He had 1 goal and 15 points in 80 games. Ours had 18 goals and 61 points. You probably need someone like Pesce or otherwise worse than you know.

I understand goals might not be the best indicator, but he’s had 36 goals in his entire career and he’s almost 30 years old. That’s absolutely a red flag. He also doesn’t produce that many points in general. If you want a D that can give us only elite defensive play and produce little offensively then there’s plenty of no name guys who can do that better than Pesce. This is kind of why I was saying him as a whole is nowhere close to that value.

Edmonton declines both trades. You've definitely made the team worse now and in the future.
