With a packed roster, CBJ has completely sat out free agency (missing deals on vets) and will still face unhappy players buried in the minors or traded away for a fraction of their value.

Obviously the Coyotes first priority is not winning now, and they’re stockpiling picks, but they do have to ice a full team. They get a steady, affordable D piece in Peeke, a few guys with quality upside, and a couple filler pieces. The cost comes from a heavy stockpile—they need to stagger assets anyway—and the acquisitions do not lock up significant future cap space, allowing an Auston Matthews pursuit (or continued frugality).

Jackets hard pass, we arent just going to nuke our depth for some picks, that makes no sense.

Not only is this a completely unnecessary gutting of organizational depth, the return is terrible. Yes, the roster on the big club needs thinning but this is just silly.

Half of these guys are gonna play in the AHL and Danforth/Texier are roster players I think will be really important for them.

The only guys it makes sense for them to move are Peeke and Bemstrom
