why? I thought 2nd and smith is for Henrique retained and 4th and gurden for carters buyout

and what about for the pens, would this be a decent idea with that 3rd line?

Carter would only be via buyout a second was Bailey with a 5mil contract so maybe a 3rd or 4th plus gurden which is more than a 3rd anyway

Henrique would be a nice deadline addition if the team is in a playoff position. However, Carter isn’t going anywhere. We have to just ride it out for one more year.

Dont listen to the other biased fans on here. You almost always have to overpay way too much on here to make people happy on here. In reality, real life-like trades would get reported on here. If anything you're already overpaying for henrique so dont listen to that scrutiny. As far as the idea of getting him, i like it, but if it costs this much in real life then no way, no thanks. Same goes for so called dumping rutta, rutta isnt even a cap dump and not even bad, so you're overpaying to get rid of him. Not behind the second trade at all.

Bailey had a 5M AAV cap hit, but was only owed 3.5M in real money. His buyout costs the Hawks 1.167M this year and next.

Carter is owed 3M real money and his buyout would be 1M this year and next. That's only a difference of 167K times two in the most important thing to consider... how much MONEY these buyouts cost. In that practical sense the buyouts are very close to the same and you'd expect the draft pick cost to be very similar as well.
