Description
I have been a Carlo fan since his draft year. I assume Boston needs a center…and the entire hockey world knows the Wild need size on the blueline (especially on the right side!). What says you, Boston and Wild fans?
P.S. saw a version of this trade elsewhere, can’t remember who to give credit for this idea to…

Wings can be any team…just moving Foligno’s contract to squeeze Carlo onto the roster.

Bruins addressed their center needs to with Geekie. Also Don Sweeney has said that he is going to build the D around the core of Carlo, McAvoy and Lindholm. I don't think that is enough to change those plans and move Carlo.

One of the more interesting Carlo trades i’ve seen. And unlike most others his NTC is not a problem, Minny won’t be on it.

But it does not make Boston better. They end up with no 2nd pair d men on the roster. And their top shutdown D man gone.

It’s not declined on value, it declined on logistics.

May have been me that first brought this up, and honestly this is a much better version for Boston. The same problems with Hartman exist where he's more of a middle six than the 1C boston badly needs. But as said above, leaves a big hole at 2RD for Boston with no real way to remedy it short of another trade.

Why would the Wild trade for Carlo? They already have a solid top 4. They also have Ryan Hartman on one of the best deals in the NHL for how little he makes. I don't see the point in giving up and him and Foligno to add another D man when we have a full AHL D core of prospects. Lambos and Hunt could both see some time up. I don't mind moving Addison or Foligno. Foligno and Hartman could be great deadline trades.

Carlo would allow the Wild to play Faber on the 3rd pairing for a couple years AND help minimize Spurgeon’s minutes so maybe…just maybe he wouldn’t suck so badly in the playoffs every year. Heck, they would just about be able to roll the 3 pairings evenly all season and just make offensive zone/defensive zone matchups as needed. While the Wild do have a full cupboard of future NHL defensemen, almost all of them are future 3rd pairing guys with Lambos having the highest ceiling as a probable 2nd pairing guy.
