I don’t get this line of response which is about all I’ve heard. SJ didn’t use them the way Carolina would and SJ also didn’t have Slavin. Lazy analysis IMO.

What's the story? I've heard of players having chemistry issues on the same line, but different lines? Is this like a voodoo thing or something?

It had very little to do with the fact that Karl and BB were on the same team. Same story for Karlsson as his other down years, it was injury issues. There is zero evidence that BB and Karlsson didn’t mix well as they didn’t even play on the same pairs. Its just cheap, boring and lazy fan “analysis”.

Neither of them complained about ice time or PP time. They got along great and are good friends off the ice. Just dumb that people keep propelling this ignorance forward

How is Carolina going to use them differently? And how would you know the answer to that question anyhow?

In any case I don't see Edmonton doing this. Pesce likely won't re-sign in Edmonton making him a pure rental, his PGA Rels in the past 2 seasons were worse than Ceci's with identical deployment, and they really like Holloway. There just isn't much (if any) upside short term and lots of downside in year 2 and beyond.

What was the issue with them specifically last time? Did they play together or did they cause chemistry issues in locker room?

One would think that having the defensive system in place that CAR does, plus the general types of forwards within that system that they have would work well for Burns and EK. It clearly did for Burns, not sure why it wouldn’t for EK as well. Plus, being able to have them at a combined 12-14m cap hit as opposed to 20m helps surround them with better players.

Slavin and the Canes aggressive defensive and puck possession system will give Burns and EK 15-20% more time with the puck on their sticks.

What are PGA Rels and are you saying Ceci is better than Pesce?
