I don't believe that Murray will cost much of anything to move, GM's love their cup pedigree and can get him for very little if anything. So I bet he gets moved. But if it does cost too much just buy him out.

7.5 million in real money owed is a hell of a downer for a 5 million AAV defenseman, so we're not going to give up anything of value to acquire him.

This is a terrrrrrrible idea. He is the Leafs best defensive defenseman. We just picked up 3 forwards who are really bad defensively.

Small market franchise means small market budget, and last I checked Brodie had a strong preference for the right side which is where Drysdale plays, so yeah, it really doesn't make that much sense. Add to that he's a pending UFA, why would a team like the Ducks give up much for one season of Brodie, in which we have to pay him 150% of his cap hit?

There's other pending UFA LHD avaliable for less cap, les annual salary, and less acquisition cost.
